Emily R. Schwartz, also known as Leavves, is a multi disciplinary artist born in Los Angeles, CA and currently residing in Portland, OR. She most enjoys the mediums of painting, drawing, animation, and printmaking to utilize her visual language. She derives inspiration from her sun-soaked place of origin, traditional tattoo aesthetics, and popular culture. Her work primarily focuses on themes of home, death, and womanhood. Her growing body of work confronts these themes by employing both personal and universal symbols, such as tropical plants, hot cars, and digital landscapes.
